Primera Cita is a lighthearted and heartfelt one-act play that captures the universal excitement and jitters of a first date.
Set in two side-by-side bedrooms, the story follows teenagers Carlos and Maria as they each prepare for a long-anticipated date.
In one bedroom, Maria is locked in an epic fashion battle, trying on half her wardrobe and still convinced she has "nothing to wear." Meanwhile Carlos is facing a different kind of crisis: his very first shave—with questionable results. As the clock counts down to their date, nerves run high, confidence runs low
As the clock ticks down to their meeting, both wrestle with self-doubt, anticipation, and the thrill of possibly impressing the other person.
Through humor and tenderness, the play explores the sweet vulnerability of young love and the little moments that make big memories. They enlist the help of the audience when choosing outfits and places to go for their date.
